*What is Myofunctional Therapy?
Myofunctional therapy is exercise-based therapy that is focused on the neuromuscular reeducation of the muscles of the mouth, tongue and face. It helps to restore balance and tone to specifically targeted muscles with the goal to achieve optimal function.
*How long does myofunctional therapy take?
A complete myofunctional therapy program can take anywhere from 8 to 12 months on average. Programs are customized based on the specific needs of the patient.
*What is Mini Myo?
Mini Myo programs are for children that are younger in age that are not ready for a full myofunctional program. Mini Myo consists of education, tips, mini exercises, and referral services.
*What is the cost of myofunctional therapy?
The cost can vary depending on individual patient needs. The number of sessions has a bearing on cost.
*Do you bill medical insurance?
Synergy does not bill medical insurance. A monthly superbill can be provided upon request for the patient to send to their insurance for reimbursement.
*Do you offer payment plans?
Synergy Myofunction Therapy offers payment plans to help make therapy more affordable to patients. No interest is charged for payment plans.
*Do you offer habit elimination like thumb therapy?
Yes. Habit elimination programs are 30 days in length. The fee is $150 at the start of the program and $150 upon habit elimination. It is very important that habit elimination is done when there is low stress in the home. All habit elimination programs require a high level of involvement within the family at home.
*If my child is in therapy, can I drop them off and pick them up after a session?
For all therapy programs in which the patient is under the age of 18, I require that a parent or guardian is present during every session. Parental involvement is very important to help the child have the most success from therapy.
